Mazatlan is a city located at the northeast of Mexico. It borders with the Pacific Ocean and is one of the most important beach destinations in the country. Founded in 1531, Mazatlan attracts national and international tourism because of its warm weather, the sea, its people, cultural richness and paradisiac beaches.
“The Pacific Pearl”, as it’s also known, has tropical sub-humid weather and the average annual temperature is 78°F, although in summer can reach the 100°F with high humid sensation., ideal to spend all day on the beach!
Its gastronomy is mainly based in fish and fresh seafood served in cocktails, ceviche, zarandeado fish and campechanas. Smoked marlin and tuna, tacos gobernador and tamales borbones (filled with shrimp) are some of the most famous dishes invented in Mazatlán. Besides the gastronomy offers a wide variety for all tastes from international cuisine, fast food, vegan food, meat and more. The beverages are varied, but the most famous are CocoHorchata, Tonicol and Tejuino, besides some wines and a variety of beers; among them stands out Pacífico Beer made in this city.
Mazatlan highlights by its outstanding Boardwalk (Malecon), which with more than 12 miles becomes one of the longest in the world. The Malecon is a series of panoramic roads with pedestrian and recreational space, has big cliffs, cooper sculptures, roundabouts, ancient buildings, stores and hotels. It is ideal to take a walk, have a bike ride either day or night. Besides, on its extensive beaches you can practice different activities like sport fishing, aquatic sports or just enjoy the beautiful sunsets it offers.
If you don’t want to walk through the Malecon, a very good option are the “pulmonías”, a traditional tourist vehicle that offers taxi service but if you ask the driver to take you on a tour to the main attractions of the city he’ll gladly do it with a very complete guide. An unforgettable show is the one that offer, daily, the audacious divers of the Sánchez Taboada roundabout when they jump from a cliff to the ocean, you can see this spectacle by the afternoon of after the sunset, with fire involved!

In its historical center you can notice the influence of European immigrants who arrived to the coasts of the Pacific Ocean on XIX century, French, Germans, Chinese, Italian, Spanish are some of the old inhabitants and its decedents are the main population of the port.
